== World Rankings VMS File Structure ==
A World Rankings VMS file contains the following sections:

# A general header common for all VMS files;
# An HTML page intended for the Dreamcast browser. This page sets up a form to interact with the official website and upload data to it. The data to be uploaded is stored as the value of a hidden <code>chaodata</code> field in the form. The value is the encrypted World Rankings data encoded as a Base64 string. The tool decodes and decrypts the data automatically.

* The original Japanese version of the game uses <code>SONICADV_SYS</code>, and all later releases use <code>SONICADV_INT</code> as the save filename.
* World Rankings data uses a single save slot. When it is converted to a savegame file, it is duplicated for the second and third slots.
* <code>Submitted by</code> (email address) and <code>Individual ID</code> (unique hardware ID, unused) are strings stored in form fields (<code>mailid</code> and <code>dcid</code>) in the HTML page embedded into the VMS file. These fields were meant to be used by the website's CGI scripts to identify the uploader and store their information in the database.
